coming-attractions-02102021 phoebeLatest Update: This week we’ve info on Phoebe Robinson’s new sitcom Everything’s Trashed, the return of Chelmsford 123 in audio form, casting details on the True Lies tv series, Amazon’s new animated show with Kiersey Clemons, a second series for Tim Minchin’s Upright, a spin-off from On My Block, and much much more.

Archer – Will be returning for a thirteenth season even though Jessica Walter is sadly no longer with us and the show is long past its best.

Chelmsford 123 – This long forgotten Channel 4 comedy is returning in audio form. “The new audio incarnation of the comedy reunites original cast members of Jimmy Mulville as Aulus Paulinus, Rory McGrath as Badvoc, Neil Pearson as Mungo, and Philip Pope as Grasientus. Their co-star Howard Lew Lewis died in 2018 at the age of 76, and his voice has been impersonated by Pope for the new recording. Mulville and McGrath wrote the four new episodes, which have already been taped and is in post-production, awaiting a digital release soon”.

Cobra Kai – Will be back for a fourth season on December 31st.

Emily In Paris – Returns on December 22nd. “Emily in Paris follows Emily (Lily Collins), an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago, who unexpectedly lands a job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company. She is tasked with revamping their social media strategy and providing an American perspective on things. There, in the City of Lights, she embarks on a new life in Paris is filled with adventures and challenges, as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances. Season 1 was shot entirely on location in Paris and throughout France. Season 2 will shoot in Paris, St. Tropez and other locations in the South of France”.

Everything’s Trash – Is a forthcoming Freeform series from Phoebe Robinson and Jonathan Groff. “Robinson, known for her podcast and HBO series “2 Dope Queens” as well as serving as a writer on “Portlandia,” will star as Phoebe, a 30-something podcaster with a messy life who’s trying to figure out adulthood with the help of her friends and family. She’s forced to grow up when her older brother Jayden (Jordan Carlos) becomes a political candidate, and the two must learn to set boundaries as Jayden’s “Barack Obama-esque aspirations” clash with Phoebe’s wild side. The series is based on Robinson’s book “Everything’s Trash, But It’s Okay.” The cast also includes Toccarra Cash as Phoebe’s podcast producer and friend Malika, Nneka Okafor as Phoebe’s sister-in-law Jessie and Moses Storm as Phoebe’s best friend and roommate Michael”.

Fairfax – Amazon are making this new adult animated comedy which will star. “Kiersey Clemons, Jaboukie Young-White, Skyler Gisondo and Peter S. Kim…about four middle school best friends on a never-ending quest for clout. All eight episodes will drop on the streamer on Oct. 29. The show is set on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, the pulsing heart of hypebeast culture, wherein the BFFs are caught in the struggle to be cooler than they are, to fit in while standing out and waiting in line for a pair of sneakers they’re never going to cop. The artist Somehoodlum designed the characters for the series. The star-studded guest cast of “Fairfax” includes Pamela Adlon as Phyllis, Jeff Bottoms as The Plug, Yvette Nicole Brown as Trini, Rob Delaney as Grant, Zoey Deutch as Lily, Colton Dunn as Principal Weston, John Leguizamo as Glenn the pigeon, Camila Mendes as Melody, Larry Owens as Jules, Linda Park as Joy, Billy Porter as Hiroki Hassan, Ben Schwartz as Cody, Tim Simons as Brian and JB Smoove as Quattro the pigeon”.

Freeridge – A spin off from Netflix’s On My Block is in the works. ““Freeridge” takes its name from the fictional Los Angeles neighbourhood that serves as the setting of “On My Block.” It follows a new crew of friends who may or may not have unleashed a deadly curse, kicking off a whole new adventure. “While this chapter is closing for our OG squad this October as they reach the end of High School, we are excited to bring a brand new cast of characters and stories to life in this ‘On My Block’ spin-off,” said Tracey Pakosta, Netflix’s head of comedy. “There are so many more stories to tell in Freeridge and we’re grateful to continue this journey with Lauren, Eddie, Jeremy, Jamie Uyeshiro and Jamie Dooner.””.

Love Life – William Jackson Harper is single and unhappy about it, in this trailer for the second season.

Mincemeat – Sex Education star Aimee Lou Wood is to star in this Channel 4 dramedy. “Mincemeat is a one-off comedy drama in which Wood plays Jane, a young woman trying to cope with her controlling and over-bearing mother who struggles with hoarding. Falling in love with Nish, played by Nikhil Parmar (This Way Up, Trollied), she wonders if she can find a means of escape”.

Mr Corman – Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s AppleTv+ comedy drama won’t be returning for a second season.

The New Red – The creators of Cobra Kai are adapting an Israeli mockumentary series for US viewers. “The original series followed an all-puppet band led by Red Orbarch, an aging rock star whose best days are behind him, and for whom the present is a confusing world in which his rocker behaviors are no longer acceptable. In “The New Red,” Red is a judge on a middling singing competition, trying to get sober for the first time in his life while he attempts to fix the relationships his addiction destroyed. Pfeffer voices and puppeteers Red”.

Saturday Night Live – Beck Bennett is leaving the show, but Aristotle Athari, James Austin Johnson and Sarah Sherman are joining it.

Sex Education – Has been renewed for a fourth season.

True Lies – More info has been revealed about this pilot based on the hit movie. “Ginger Gonzaga will star opposite Steve Howey…Gonzaga will star as Helen, the role played in the “True Lies” film by Jamie Lee Curtis. Variety previously exclusively reported that Howey would star as Harry, who was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film. Helen is described as Harry’s supportive wife, mother of two teenage kids and a linguistics professor who is getting annoyed by Harry’s constant business trips away from home. Increasingly angered, she feels as if she’s been robbed of the life she once envisioned for herself. Thrilled when Harry invites her along for a trip to Paris, Helen is in for a rude shock when she sees a very different side to her husband, learning that he is in fact a world-class spy”. Upright – Tim Minchin’s road movie sitcom sort of thing is coming back for a second series, “this time swapping the desert for the steamy tropics of Far North Queensland, with Lucky and Meg hitting the road and the river too…Minchin plays washed-up rock musician Lachlan “Lucky” Finn, who was transporting an upright piano cross-country from Sydney to Perth when a road accident threw him and misfit teenager Meg (Alcock) together for the rest of the trip”.
