Talking Bottom – Legendary comedians Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson’s hit sitcom Bottom first landed on BBC2 on 17th September 1991 and to celebrate its 30th anniversary, the popular podcast Talking Bottom is releasing a new series delving into the themes of Bottom and honouring its comedy legacy. The podcast will release weekly episodes examining topics intrinsic to the cult comedy show, made famous for its perverted characters and outrageously violent slapstick comedy. The topics covered will include: 17th September: Physical Comedy / 24th September: Class and Poverty / 1st October: The Costumes / 8th October: A Dark and Gross Universe / 15th October: Base Needs / 22nd October: Waiting for Godot / 29th October: Fan favourites. Each week will also see exclusive interviews with creatives who worked on Bottom, both in front of and behind the camera. Guests include comedy producers Paul Jackson and Jon Plowman, plus actor Lee Cornes, who played landlord Dick Head, and Mark Lambert, known to Bottom audiences best as the unlucky Gas Man. You can follow @TalkingBottom on Twitter for more information.

Triplets – A sequel to the Danny DeVito, Arnold Schwarzenegger movie is in the works, with Tracy Morgan set to play a third, previously unknown brother. “Reitman also shared the plot, that as you can imagine—with the inclusion of Morgan as the missing triplet—is extra bonkers: “Secretly, there was a third baby born, a Black baby, who hasn’t been in touch with his siblings. They don’t know each other and very early in the movie they meet and it’s how they achieve a bond together after all these years.” This brings up so many questions but Twins was barely logical, so a plot this wild is just keeping the nonsensical spirit of the original movie alive”. https://www.avclub.com/we-promise-this-isnt-a-30-rock-joke-tracy-morgan-will-1847680191

Twenties – Returns for its second season on Oct. 13 at 10 p.m.”Along with a new original after-show hosted and executive produced by B. Scott, Variety has learned exclusively. From creator, writer and executive producer Lena Waithe of Hillman Grad Productions, “Twenties” follows Hattie (Jonica T. Gibbs), a masculine-presenting queer Black woman in her 20s, and her two straight best friends, Marie (Christina Elmore) and Nia (Gabrielle Graham), as they navigate romantic and professional endeavors in Los Angeles. Sophina Brown and Jevon McFerrin also star. With “Twenties After-Show,” B. Scott will become the first trans non-binary person to host and executive produce a show at BET. The first episode will feature Waithe and Gibbs, who will take a deep dive into the new season”. https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/kevin-hart-wesley-snipes-true-story-netflix-premiere-date-1235065955/

Twisted Metal – More news has been revealed about this action comedy, based on the console games. “The show is about motor-mouthed outsider John Doe (Anthony Mackie) who is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown named who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck, whom fans of the game will know as Sweet Tooth”. https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/anthony-mackie-to-star-in-twisted-metal-live-action-series-1235065424/

Untitled Simon Amstell Film – Amstell has spoken about his forthcoming third film. “Focusing on a “deranged” woman in her thirties embarking on an emotional journey, the comic plans to begin work on his semi-autobiographical third feature when his stand-up tour Spirit Hole concludes, with the current dates running till November. Reflecting once again on freeing himself from ego and shame in his latest live show, as well as potential parenthood, Spirit Hole and the film share similar themes of “control” and anxiety about middle-age. With the title yet to be disclosed, the film is “a bit about what the stand-up starts being about, which is about a person terrified of getting older and what do you do about that?” he told Dominic King on his BBC Radio Kent show.”Her crisis is worse than mine is, slightly. It’s about learning to grow up, learning to take responsibility, for yourself and other people.””. https://www.comedy.co.uk/film/news/6543/simon-amstell-new-film/

Wednesday Addams – Gwendoline Christie is the latest cast addition, with the actress playing “Larissa Weems, a longtime rival of Morticia Addams in Netflix’s “Wednesday.” Christie is a series regular. The eight-episode series — a live-action, comedic, supernatural mystery that Netflix ordered in February — revolves around Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) going to the Nevermore Academy. Larissa (Christie) is the principal there, and according to Netflix, she “still has an axe to grind with her former classmate Morticia Addams” (guest star Catherine Zeta-Jones). Netflix previously announced that Luis Guzmán will guest star on “Wednesday” as Gomez Addams”. https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/gwendoline-christie-wednesday-addams-netflix-series-1235064981/

Wurzel Gummidge – Toby Jones will guest star in the next series of Mackenzie Crook’s hit show. https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/news/6538/toby-jones-in-worzel-gummidge/
