Cobrai Kai – Details on the fourth season and a teaser trailer is here:

The Complaints Department – Is a new panel show hosted by Jason Mansford which is about “Two teams of comics revelling in complaining. Hard Cell – More cast details have been revealed for this Catherine Tate prison set comedy.

Joe Pera Talks With You – Is coming back for a third season this autumn, and a suitably low key teaser trailer is here:

Joke Thieves – Comedy Central is working on a pilot of the “hit stand-up show Joke Thieves, in which British and American comics perform each others’ routines, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal. Hosted by American comic Ron Funches (pictured), the format was created by British comedian Will Mars. It was originally piloted for television in 2014 by BBC Two with production company The Comedy Unit and hosted by Hal Cruttenden. The corporation also piloted its sister show Sketch Thieves, however neither was picked up for series. Now, Comedy Central is is giving Joke Thieves an international twist with comics from both sides of the Atlantic, with a pilot produced by Hat Trick Productions (Have I Got News For You, Derry Girls). The live format sees four or six comedians introduced and then split into pairs. In the first half of each show, comics must perform their own material. Then in the second, they must recreate the act of their opponent.

Little Voice – This AppleTv+ series has been cancelled after just one season.

Love, Victor – Has been renewed for a third season. “In the series, Victor Salazar (Michael Cimino) is a new student at Creekwood High who has just moved with his family from rural Texas to Atlanta. On top of all the usual high school pressures of making friends and fitting in, Victor is still figuring out his sexuality – a tricky subject in his religious family. Reaching out to Simon for advice, Victor slowly but surely learns to be his authentic self and to trust the message from the film – that everyone deserves a great love story. In Season 2, a newly out-of-the-closet Victor entered his junior year at Creekwood High. But being out brings with it new challenges as Victor faces a family struggling with his revelation, a heartbroken ex-girlfriend in Mia (Rachel Hilson), and the difficulties of being an openly gay star athlete — all while navigating the excitement of his relationship with Benji (George Sear)”.

The Mary Jo Pehl Show – Original Mystery Science Theater 3000 writer & cast member Mary Jo Pehl has announced a new livestream series in collaboration with Dumb Industries: The Mary Jo Pehl Show. The monthly comedy-variety show is set to premiere on Twitch Tuesday, August 24, 2021 @ 8pm ET / 7pm CT, with Pehl hosting an interactive hour of comedy every fourth Tuesday of the month, free to all viewers. Chris Gersbeck, founder of Dumb Industries and producer of the popular The Mads Are Back livestreams with MST3K’s Trace Beaulieu & Frank Conniff, will be producing. “When the pandemic first started I moved in with my widowed Dad for the duration, taking up residency in his basement,” Pehl said when asked how The Mary Jo Pehl show came about. “I started a Facebook Live show where I updated people on my Dad, his parsimony with pancake syrup, and the general goings-on in Fridley, Minnesota, where he lives. Tens and tens of people enjoyed it, I had a blast, and it kind of grew from that.” The Mary Jo Pehl Show will be a loosely structured variety show with the format, theme, and content set to change with each episode. The premiere episode will find Pehl presenting a series of unaired pilots and never-before-seen short films she has been involved with over the years, in what she is referring to as “The Failed Film Festival.” Amongst the films to be presented are the pilot for RenFest, a sitcom starring Pehl as the newly-hired Second Assistant General Manager of a renaissance fair alongside her Cinematic Titantic co-stars Trace Beaulieu and Dave (Gruber) Allen, the pilot for America Obscurious, a mockumentary-style comedy also featuring Beaulieu in addition to MST3K & RiffTrax ’s Kevin Murphy, plus a series of sketches Pehl produced and starred in featuring her own down-on-her-luck character Ruth Larson.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers – Disney+ have given this a second season. “Set in present day Minnesota, the series takes place after the events of the original films. The Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), set out to build their own team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of youth sports today. With the help of Gordon Bombay, (Emilio Estevez) they rediscover the joys of playing just for love of the game”.

Our Flag Means Death – Nat Faxon and Leslie Jones have joined the cast of this pirate comedy.

Pam and Tommy – Lily James has spoken about this forthcoming Hulu series in an interview here:

Physical – Has been given a second season by AppleTv+ –

Post Guard – Thomas Lennon is working on an animated comedy. “The series is described as a workplace adventure comedy following the rag tag crew of humans, turtles, seals and mermaids at the secretive, and often overlooked mashup of the Coast Guard and Post Office, as they scour the high seas to find and deliver messages in bottles, while settling who among them is in charge of the ship’s menial tasks, like resetting the WiFi”.

Reboot – A new sitcom from Modern Family’s Steve Levitan is in the works with Keegan-Michael Key and Johnny Knoxville to star. Currently only a pilot has been made, where “Hulu decides to reboot an early 2000’s family sitcom. Its dysfunctional cast is forced back together and now must deal with their unresolved issues in today’s fast-changing world. Levitan is the creator, executive producer, and showrunner and also wrote the pilot story. Levitan and Enbom wrote the pilot teleplay”.

South Park – Has been renewed for another five seasons, and not only that but they are to make 14 movies which will air on Paramount+ – all of which is an enormous shame as the series has been terrible for the last couple of years and it’s a shame these companies are spending so much money on it, especially given the great shows Comedy Central have cancelled of late.

Tuca & Bertie – This animated comedy that started on Netflix but was then cancelled will continue to air on Adult Swim as the network have given it a third season.

Your Place Or Mine – Is the latest Netflix rom-com in the works, that follows “Two best friends on opposite coasts who see their whole life change when they swap homes for a week”. Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher are to star in the movie, which normally wouldn’t interest us but it’s to be directed by Crazy Ex-Girlfriend co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna so hopefully it’ll be better than it sounds.

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist – Recently cancelled, while a third season isn’t in the works a tv movie is, and quite surprisingly it’ll air on Roku rather than original network NBC. The deals haven’t been finalised yet but as long as everything goes to plan it’ll be filmed soon, and there’s even rumours that if the movie is a success it could lead to a third season.
