Aqua Teen Hunger Force – Another film is in the works. “A continuation of the hit animated series, fans will find out what happens next with Frylock, Meatwad and Master Shake, who consider themselves crime fighters, but the truth is they never fight crime. Blindspotting – A Starz dramedy based on the movie will air soon, where “Ashley is forced to take her son Sean (Atticus Woodward) and move into boyfriend Miles’ (Casal) house to live with his family-oriented mother Rainey (Helen Hunt) and wild half-sister Trish (Jaylen Barron) after he is arrested and sent to prison. As the first trailer suggests, Ashley has a tough time adjusting to her new circumstances as she tries to figure out what to do with her life as a 32-year-old single mother whose partner is incarcerated. She might just find help in close friend Janelle (Candace Nicholas-Lippman), who moves to town after living in Bali for several years”. More info and a trailer is here.

Call Me Kat – Mayim Bialik’s sitcom is returning for a second season.

Chuckleworld – The British Comedy Guide have reported that the duo may return to our screens if a Crowdfunder campaign is successful. “Paul Elliott and Barry Elliott starred as The Chuckle Brothers in nearly 300 episodes of BBC sitcom ChuckleVision between 1987 and 2009. Barry died in 2018, however Paul is now looking to keep their characters going via animation. He has launched a page on the Crowdfunder platform called Bringing the Chuckle Brothers back to the screen!. The page says: “Loved by generations for their countless TV adventures and brilliant theatre shows, The Chuckle Brothers are to return to our screens in ChucklesWorld, a new and hilarious animated series on mainstream television”. /

The Cockfields – Susannah Fielding will be in the second series of the sitcom – “The This Time With Alan Partridge star plays Esther in the Gold sitcom, new girlfriend of Simon (Joe Wilkinson) following his break-up with Donna (Diane Morgan)” and Bobby Ball will be replaced by Rab C Nesbitt star Gregor Fisher after Ball sadly died in October.

Comedy Central – Have commissioned three new series: “Yesterday, Today & The Day Before is a female-led panel of famous comedy faces will offer a fresh and unique take on all that’s happened in the world, poring over topical news, pop culture and funny anecdotes. Guests will also be involved, injecting unpredictability into the discussion and inspiring a topic for a section of the show dedicated to them.”. The Complaints Department is “A panel show that sees “two teams of well-known comics revelling in the thing this country might well be best at – complaining. Over a series of rounds, the teams will be presented with the finest of moans, whines and protests from the great British public and beyond, from the internet, tweets, interviews and good-old fashioned stiff letters. As well as finding the funny in the complaints, the teams will be bringing their own gripes to get off their chests.”. While finally Fact Off is “A comedy quiz show in which “four comedians, armed with the most impressive facts and fascinating trivia they know, try to outsmart one another throughout a variety of rounds in a bid to get their knowledge onto the show’s prestigious ‘Wall of Facts'”.

Don’t Forget The Driver – Was given a second series, but now that won’t be taking place as the BBC have cancelled the show.

Dr. Cosmos – Dylan Moran has written a new sitcom that will be filmed soon. “The television comedy, his first starring role in 17 years, will focus on a psychiatrist, British Comedy Guide can reveal. Also written by the Irish stand-up, it will be a two-hander between himself and a female actor. Delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, “we film that whenever they give us the nod,” he told the i newspaper in an interview published today. “A lot of it is about … er … I’m trying to write about modern pressures. Well, not modern pressures. I’m trying to write about people under pressure, some kind of pressure.” As with Moran’s 2018 stand-up show, recorded in 2019, streaming Saturday and Sunday on, and his 2015 book, the sitcom has, at times in development, been known as Dr Cosmos. In 2019, Moran told The Ray D’Arcy radio show in Ireland that it was “small and quietly in the pipes. It’s a small format, just 15 minutes long, five episodes, a micro thing … I’m in it and I’m in it with another actor, who I won’t name yet … she’s a huge talent and a fantastic performer … I’m really enjoying writing it.”.

Everything’s Trash – Jackée Harry and George Wallace are the latest additions to the cast – “The iconic pair join previously announced series star Phoebe Robinson in the half-hour pilot. It follows Phoebe, a 30-something podcast star navigating her messy life. When her younger brother Jayden emerges as a leading politician, she’s forced to grow up, so she relies on her friends and close-knit family to help her figure out adulthood, since she doesn’t seem to have a clue. The series is inspired by Robinson’s book, “Everything’s Trash But It’s Okay.” Harry will star as Zora, Phoebe and Jayden’s mother. She and her husband are mid-Western transplants, but they have made a home in NY. They love and support their children equally, but truth be known, Zora acts (and dresses) younger than she is and straddles the line between “I’m my daughter’s mother” and “I’m my daughter’s best friend.” Wallace will star as Abraham, Phoebe and Jayden’s father and husband to Zora. He and his wife have been together since middle school and like Zora, he has treated Phoebe more like a friend than a daughter, which was fine before because she always brought laughter and joy to the family. However, now that Jayden is an elected official, Frederick worries that his daughter’s ne’er do well ways is not a great look for the family”.

Friends The Reunion – Will air on HBO Max on May 27th, and if you’ve ever dreamt of hearing the theme music slowed right down as you see the backs of the cast, well, a very shit trailer can be seen here:

Good Omens – May be coming back for a second series, but as the source of this news is The Sun we’re not sure how reliable it is.

Gordita Chronicles – Is a new HBO Max series that “stars Diana-Maria Riva (“Dead to Me,” “Telenovela”), Juan Javier Cardenas (“Snowfall,” “9-1-1: Lone Star”) and Olivia Goncalves (“Scooter McGruder”). Claudia Forestieri (“Good Trouble,” “Selena: The Series”), wrote the pilot and Eva Longoria directed. Longoria will serve as an executive producer for her Unbelievable Entertainment banner, and Forestieri also executive produces…Per the logline, “Gordita Chronicles” centers on a willful, 12-year-old Dominican girl who struggles to fit into hedonistic 1980s Miami as her family pursues the American dream. “From the minute we heard Claudia’s childhood story, we knew it was not only incredibly funny, but also emotionally poignant and an important story to tell,” added Jason Clodfelter, co-president, Sony Pictures Television Studios. “Cucu and the Castellis remind us of the iconic sitcom families we grew up watching, but none of those ever captured a Dominican family’s experience of coming to America. This show changes all of that, and we are thrilled and grateful to dive back in and make a wonderful series for our friends at HBO Max”.

Hello Tomorrow! – Is a new Apple Dramey that will star Billy Crudup. “The 10-episode, half-hour series is set in a retro-future world and centers around a group of traveling salesmen hawking lunar timeshares. Crudup stars as Jack, a salesman of great talent and ambition, whose unshakeable faith in a brighter tomorrow inspires his coworkers, revitalizes his desperate customers, but threatens to leave him dangerously lost in the very dream that sustains him”.

Intelligence – Diane Morgan, Morgana Robinson and Nick Helm will appear in the second series of this Sky sitcom: “Robinson will play an anti-harassment adviser called Hilary while Morgan is Charlotte, who forms an online friendship with Mohammed’s character, Joseph, which blossoms into romance. It has not been revealed what role Helm plays. Alastair Roberts, from Starstruck and Stath Lets Flats, has also joined the cast, while Vivian Oprarah will play receptionist Honey”. More info and a trailer is here:

It’s Not a Show with Elon Gold – Is a new series being made for Crackle Plus. “The show will feature guests including Tiffany Haddish, Bill Burr, Howie Mandel, Jeff Garlin, Jim Gaffigan, Nikki Glaser, Jay Leno, Amanda Peet, Bob Saget, Jeff Ross, Russell Peters and more”.

Little Demon – FX have ordered this animated sitcom that’s been in development for a few years now and which will star “Danny DeVito, his daughter Lucy DeVito and Aubrey Plaza. It comes from Danny DeVito’s Jersey Films 2nd Avenue, ShadowMachine and FX Productions, with Rick & Morty co-creator Dan Harmon executive producing. Little Demon joins animated comedy series Archer and Cake on FXX and FX on Hulu. Created by Darcy Fowler, Seth Kirschner and Kieran Valla, in Little Demon, 13 years after being impregnated by the Devil (Danny DeVito), a reluctant mother (Plaza) and her Antichrist daughter (Lucy DeVito) attempt to live an ordinary life in Delaware, but are constantly thwarted by monstrous forces, including Satan, who yearns for custody of his daughter’s soul”.

Metalocalypse – Adult Swim have announced a feature length movie based on the show is to be made. “The power-hungry TRIBUNAL unveils their secret and deadly “Falconback Project” as the world grows in embattled chaos and the menacing Doomstar breaches the Earth’s atmosphere while the mysterious and twisted dissent of a band member threatens the future of Dethklok. Picking up directly after the heroic rescue of Toki Wartooth: Can Dethklok choose between their egos and the greater good of the world to embark on a gauntlet of dangers that will try their very souls and finally write the song that will be their salvation?”.

The Offenders – Julia Davis and Richard E. Grant are the latest cast additions to Stephen Mercant’s forthcoming comedy drama. “The Offenders – which is still a working title – follows seven strangers from different walks of life forced together to complete a community payback sentence in Bristol. Grant, who appeared with Merchant in the superhero movie Logan plays The Earl, a member of the landed gentry and the father of Tomlinson’s wayward character, Gabby. Davis plays Rita, head of human resources at the company where Merchant’s character Greg works. Describing the plot, the BBC says that as ‘unlikely new friendships intersect with their complicated private lives, the Offenders must unite to protect one of their own from Bristol’s most dangerous criminal gang. The show is part crime thriller, and part character study – with humour and heart.’”. More info and an image is here:

Pam & Tommy – The first photos for Hulu’s “comedic limited series” are now online, with the show about “the release of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s infamous sex tape, with Lily James and Sebastian Stan slotted into Pam & Tommy’s title roles…But while the tone projected by the above photos doesn’t go very far beyond “High-commitment couples costume circa 1996,” it’s still not clear what angle the Hulu series itself, written by Rob Siegel and DV DeVincentis, and directed by I, Tonya’s Craig Gillespie, is likely to take on the pair’s relationship. After all, while many aspects of Anderson and Lee’s partnership were entertainingly absurd, there were also those aspects that were simply awful, like the domestic abuse charges Lee copped to after assaulting Anderson in 1998. (That’s to say nothing of the issues of consent raised by the tape itself, which was alleged by Lee to have been stolen from the couples’ home and promptly broadcast to the entire planet.) This is tricky, messy material for any show, especially one purported to be a comedy series, to tackle, and it’s not clear where on the rubbernecking vs. respectful scale Pam & Tommy is likely to fall”.” Meanwhile Pamela Anderson has spoken about how unhappy she is about the series:

Pivoting – Is a new forthcoming series from Fox. “The half-hour series stars Eliza Coupe, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Maggie Q as three women dealing with the death of their childhood best friend. Faced with the reality that life is short, in desperate attempts to find happiness, they make a series of impulsive, ill-advised and self-indulgent decisions, strengthening their bond proving it’s never too late to screw up your life. The series also stars Tommy Dewey, JT Neal, and Marcello Julian Reyes. Liz Astrof serves as writer and executive with Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor of Kapital Entertainment also executive producing.”

Please Help Me – Lucy Pearman has created a pilot for the BBC. “The fifteen minute comedy has just finished filming on location in Oxfordshire. It follows the story of “a normal girl living and working on an isolated farm in Oxfordshire who is trapped in a mundane and claustrophobic life as her grandmother’s only carer. As life becomes increasingly fraught she develops bizarre and inexplicable magical powers that make her absolutely NOT normal anymore.” The episode also stars Anna Calder-Marshall, Harry Peacock, David Mumeni and Edward Bluemel.”

The Righteous Gemstones – Jason Schwartzman, Eric Andre, and Eric Roberts have all joined the cast of this HBO sitcom with Danny McBride and John Goodman. “The second season is still in production, but Variety did deliver on some character description to whet our appetites: The nine-episode Season 2, which is currently in production, will see Schwartzman in the recurring role of Thaniel, a journalist working on a story on the ministries. Roberts will play Junior, who grew up with Eli and has suddenly re-entered his life, while Andre will play Lyle Lissons, a megachurch pastor from Texas who befriends Jesse and Amber”.

True Story – A US version of the Australian series “True Story with Hamish & Andy” is in the works with Ed Helms and Randall Parks “and will be a six-episode series in which everyday Americans sit down with the comedians and actors to share their most “extraordinary and unbelievably true stories for the first time.” As they do, the events are brought to life by other actors and comedians in heightened re-enactments, giving these real people their own biopic experience. Each episode of “True Story” will include two stories, which span different subjects and genres, including rom-com, coming-of-age transformations and thrilling, period-based heists.”.

Trying – The second series will launch on Apple Tv+ on May 21st. “The second season will continue to follow Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) navigating the adoption process. After being approved by an adoption panel, they now find that matching with a child is not as straightforward as they had hoped. Helped by their eccentric social worker Penny (Imelda Staunton), they are determined to do everything they can. When Nikki meets a little girl called Princess at an adoption event, she knows instantly that this is the child for them. However, there are obstacles to Nikki’s plan that may prove insurmountable. Ophelia Lovibond, Oliver Chris, Sian Brooke, Darren Boyd and Robyn Cara will also return this season.” A tiny bit more info and a trailer is here:

Uncoupled – Is a forthcoming Netflix comedy from Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman “about a newly single gay man whose life changes after his husband walks out on him. “Uncoupled” revolves around a man who is facing “two nightmares” of having his husband of 17 years walk out on him and for having to navigate the dating scene as a single man in his 40s”.

Untitled Anneka Rice Comedy – Anneka Rice is apparently writing a sitcom about “her imaginary former agent. The television presenter, who became a household name with her Challenge Anneka series on BBC One in the early 1990s, is penning a comedy about Clemmie Hart, the fictional representative she created to continue fielding work offers while she took time out from showbusiness to raise her children. The ruse started to emerge in 2018 when Rice began performing stand-up about it and was recorded for Radio 4 as The Clemmie Hart Years, released the following year. And though Rice eventually dispensed with Hart’s services after the fake agent’s popularity began creating its own problems, with a cover story that she had left the business after giving birth to her own child, she may yet be immortalised. “She might be coming back, I am actually writing a sitcom at the moment” Rice told Richard Herring on his RHLSTP podcast”.

The Venture Bros. – Is to return in movie form, which will initially debut on HBO Max before later airing on Adult Swim. The synopsis reads “Doc’s latest invention will either bankrupt the Ventures or launch them to new heights, as Hank searches for himself, Dean searches for Hank, The Monarch searches for answers, and a mysterious woman from their pasts threatens to bring their entire world crashing down on them.”. Given the length of time it takes for them to write a season we’re not sure when it will be released, but hopefully it might arrive by the end of 2023.
