Hoping that what he learns can help him attract a younger audience for his politically charged passion project – a time-travel movie called ‘Squad Coals’ – Liam undertakes a series of challenges, including helping a greasy spoon appeal to hip Instagrammers, saving a struggling art gallery with a TikTok exhibition, and commentating on a huge YouTuber boxing match. But as Liam proceeds with his tasks, he is distracted by the cosy relationship developing between Wirm and the Government’s new Minister for Influencers, Mungo Slate (Graham Dickson), as well as rumours of a scandal involving a TikTok mega-star and senior British politician.” Emma Sidi returns as Millipede, Jon Pointing plays Charlie South, Arnab Chanda is Hen, and Tom Stourton is back as DumpGhost. The Stranger Times – This new book from former stand-up Caimh McDonnell is being turned in to a comedy drama. “Published today by Bantam Press, the book is the first in a planned series of supernatural thrillers centred around a struggling Manchester-based weekly newspaper dedicated to investigating “the weird, the unexplained and the inexplicable”. The blurb explains: “Their editor is a drunken, foul-tempered and foul-mouthed husk of a man who thinks little (and believes less) of the publication he edits, while his staff are a ragtag group of wastrels and misfits, each with their own secrets to hide and axes to grind. And as for the assistant editor… well, that job is a revolving door – and it has just revolved to reveal Hannah Willis, who’s got her own set of problems. “It’s when tragedy strikes in Hannah’s first week on the job that The Stranger Times is forced to do some serious, proper, actual investigative journalism. There, they discover that “being young and black in the Jazz Age is a lot less genteel and a lot more shady than Downton Abbey had led them to believe”…In March last year it was announced that ITV had declined to order a third series, with Taylor commenting “Unfortunately Nick, Jason, Lauren and Horace won’t be jumping back into the piss-ridden time machine for a third time. But like all good things, it had to come to an end.” Now, Timewasters executive producer Kenton Allen, CEO of its production company, Big Talk, has confirmed that, following covid delays, ABC are set to film a pilot this spring.” https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/news/6161/timewasters-usa/

Untitled Andy Samberg Sci-Fi Comedy Drama – Details about this Apple Tv+ project are incredibly scarce right now, and we wouldn’t normally report on something with this little info, except that apparently Samberg and “his Palm Springs writer Andy Siara have teamed up with Noah Hawley and Ben Stiller” to work on the show which is “based on an original idea by ‘BoJack Horseman’ creator and author Raphael Bob-Waksberg”. So for that reason alone we’re excited, and hope to learn more about it soon. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/andy-samberg-andy-siara-noah-hawley-ben-stiller-team-for-untitled-sci-fi-project-at-apple-exclusive
