live comedy 10072020Even though the majority of the world is under lockdown right now live comedy is still being produced and streamed online by a number of amazing people, and so we’ve set up this page to highlight the very best of it.

Always Be Comedy – Anna Mann, Nick Helm, Rachel Parris, Marcus Brigstocke, Tim Vine, Marcel LuCont, Phil Wang, Catherine Bohart, James Veitch and Eleanor Tiernan are among those performing at this online club –

Angel Comedy – The lovely people behind two of the capital’s best comedy venues are hosting audience-less gigs, with many of them being improv based.

Comedy At The Covid Arms
– Kiri Pritchard-Mclean hosts this online club and the next gig on the 18th of July also sees Jordan Brookes, Jason Manford, Sikisa and more perform, while there will be Music from Cai Isfryn, and tickets can be bought here:

Comedy Store Live
– Is hosting shows on most weekends, with Hal Cruttenden, Zoe Lyons, Marlon Davis and Steve Gribbin performing at the next one, and more info is here:

Ian Lane – Is performing a number of different shows, some involving DJ-ing, some concerning old classic games, and some where he talks about important subjects, all of which we’ve enjoyed a great deal of late.

Jonny & The Baptists – Are on their “Love You & Hate Covid” tour that doesn’t tour, with the musical duo playing seven different dates. More info is here:

Just The Tonic – The next Just The Tonic show takes place on Saturday and will feature Johnny Vegas, Jonathan Pie, Lucy Beaumont, Tom Binns, Mick Ferry and Darrell Martin among various others, and tickets are here.

Keith and The Girl’s Silent Trailers – This game show goes LIVE this Saturday, July 11 at 8pm ET / 5pm PT! This month’s show will include a panel consisting of Matteo Lane (Netflix, HBO, Comedy Central), Ben Lerman (Sirius XM, ukulele master), Jesse Joyce (Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Roast Battle), and Matt Bray (MTV, g4 network, HBO). The live game show will pit KATG’s Keith Malley against the aforementioned panel of comedians who will attempt to decipher his co-host Chemda’s descriptions of movie trailers. The catch? Chemda has virtually no celebrity knowledge and Keith has seen every movie ever made. Literally. This show is a must-watch for fans of film, game shows, and rapid fire hilarity. Tickets are on sale now for just $10.

Mystery Science Theatre 3000 – The Mads are back! Join Mystery Science Theater 3000 stars Trace Beaulieu and Frank Conniff (“Dr. Clayton Forrester” and “TV’s Frank”) for this special livestream event as they live-riff through Ed Wood’s 1953 classic, Glen or Glenda, with a Q&A afterwards. This show will broadcast live via a private YouTube link that will be sent to ticket purchasers an hour prior to showtime. You can also watch directly here on Eventbrite. A percentage of the proceeds from the event will benefit NAACP Empowerment Programs, who engage primarily in training, education, and advocacy at the national and local levels. Viewers will be able to tune in from anywhere in the world. Anyone who purchases a ticket will gain access to re-watch the livestream and download it for personal viewing. NextUp – Are producing a number of shows on a regular basis, they’ve so far been enormous fun and are definitely worth watching, while in July they are holding a comedy festival with a different comedian performing a show each and every night, so they’re quite frankly some of our favourite people right now. /

Off The Kerb – Tom Allen and Suzi Ruffell are performing together on Sunday 12th July online, with tickets available here for just £5.55.

Outside The Box – Are hosting a number of live gigs starring the likes of Angelos Epithemiou, Lou Sanders, Gordon Southern, Maff Brown, Carl Donnelly, Scott Bennett and Jason Manford and tickets for their forthcoming dates are here:

RISK! – This storytelling podcast is about to celebrate it’s milestone 500th episode! Featuring stories from Kumail Nanjiani, Bowen Yang, Michelle Buteau, Julio Torres, Francesca Ramsey, and Pete Holmes, the episode is a must-listen for the uninitiated as well as a solid reminder of just how many amazing people have told stories on the podcast over the past ten years. In other news, RISK!’s series of critically-acclaimed livestreams continues this Saturday, July 11 @ 9pm ET / 6pm PT with unbelievable true stories from Kevin Allison, Ellen Acuario, Tracey Segarra, Drew Prochaska, and Erin Barker. This week’s show will also be limited to just 100 tickets, making it a much more intimate event than usual. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here.

XS Malarkey – An award winning Manchester comedy club, this hosts a regular Tuesday night gig with Heidi Regan, Jonny Pelham, Toussaint Douglass and Franqi French among those performing next week, for more info check out their twitter feed.

ComedySportz – The Manchester-based improv show is hosting shows several days a week, the schedule can be found here.

Comedy Virtually Live – Jon Pearson is creating a virtual comedy club with performers at home via Skype. The next gig is at 7.30pm on Sunday with Thomas Green, Jenny Collier and Stuart Goldsmith.

Cosmic Shambles – Set up by Robin Ince this is a mix of podcasts and stand up’s performing from their homes.

Gilded Balloon – Are hosting various live online gigs, and both their facebook page and their youtube channel is worth checking out.

The Good Ship Comedy Club – This great club run by Ben Van Der Velde has moved online, with four great acts normally performing each week:

Hold The Phone – Has a number of weekly comedy shows online, the most recent of which have included Hot Tub with Kurt and Kristen which sees Ian Abramson, Dana Donnelly, Chris Garcia, Maya May, Caleb Synan, Sarah Tollemache, Nick Turner, Nick Ciarelli and Brad Evans, while Phoebe Bottoms, Caitlin Cook, Tom Thakker and Shane Torres took part in this week’s “Good God” show.

Knock2Bag – Are recreating their Moth Club night with a selection of pre-recorded stand up which will be streamed live and features the likes of Tim Key, Natasia Demetriou & Ellie White, Lou Sanders, Adam Hess, The Pin and many more. Tickets can be bought here, though they are free for all NHS staff and keyworkers.

Komedia Live – Brighton’s much loved comedy club the Komedia is hosting a show each Friday night, with the previous ones available to view online.

Live At Hot Water Comedy Club – Are producing a new show each week with Danny McLoughlin, Carl Hutchinson, Scott Bennett and Daliso Chaponda set to perform in the next couple of weeks.

Local Laughs – This Australian comedy club is hosting online gigs which include a mixture of Australian and English comics, with Dave Callan, Rusty Berther, Ivan Aristeguieta, John-Luke Roberts and Steph Tisdell among those set to perform over the next few weeks.

Lockdown Laughs For Parents – Carly Smallman and Alyssa Kyria are the founders of Bring Your Own Baby comedy, a show where kids and parents watch comedy together, but now they’re launching an adult themed comedy night which airs each Thursday on youtube.

Outside The Box – This Kingston based comedy club founded by Maff Brown is streaming a show each Tuesday, with Brown, Harry Hill, Abandonman and Maisie Adam set to perform over the next few weeks.

Saturday Night Live At The Stand – This comedy club is live streaming another gig on Saturday night, they’ve been attracting big names each time so this is definitely one to watch.

The Weekly Stand Up – Jason Manford has set up this online comedy club with each gig taking place on Thursday evenings, with the likes of Harry Hill, Tez Ilyas. Harry Hill, Russell Howard and Milton Jones due to headline future events

Group Shows:

Notflix – This superb all female, five star rated improvised musical group are producing live content each and every Sunday at 7pm.

Showstoppers! – A live improvised musical, hopefully there will be future performances in the near future too.

Solo Stand Up / Comedy Performances:

Jack Gleadow – Was hosting a weekly variety show featuring sketches, stand-up, game shows and guests via webcam, and old episodes can be seen here –

Elf Lyons – The astonishingly talented comedian is performing live on Twitch three times a week at the moment, often reading out brand new disturbing horror stories that we love a great deal.

Sean McLoughlin’s Pirate Radio – Sean also produces a live show from his bedroom three times a week where you can hear songs, stories and the thoughts and feelings of various phone-in guests.

Stu Goldsmith’s Infinite Sofa – A mix of chat and variety show, this sees Goldsmith talk to various comedians, play games, and mess around with a watermelon (according to the website, anyhow).
