In his second hour of fast and friendly comedy in English, Ari keeps audiences laughing with fresh takes on fatherhood, mindfulness, Icelandic weather, The Avengers and what it’s like to live in a country with a population the size of Coventry. In the UK Ari Eldjárn has been seen on Mock The Week (BBC Two) and heard on The Arts Hour on Tour (BBC World Service), Scotland Vs.The World (BBC Radio 4) and The Today Programme (BBC Radio 4) and she’s been described as having a “Smart, joke-packed hour” Top Comedy Pick – Time Out and “Hilarious… This modest-seeming man has some impressive comic tricks up his sleeves” – The Scotsman. Nick Elleray – Big Nick Energy – Just what it does it take to be happy in this day and age? Nick read a book that told him to make a big list of the things that bring him joy, but the list was too short and the book just made him angry. So instead Nick will talk about latent anger, man’s inability to ever really change, and the still-hot disappointment of the Rolling Stones’ 1989 album ‘Steel Wheels’. And for the first time, you can also marvel at details of Nick’s short criminal career. Whatever your age or inner rage, you won’t find much better ‘Quality down-beat comedy’. (Chortle) at the Fringe. Nick was a finalist in the NATYs, the Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year Award, the Up The Creek One To Watch Competition, and a contender for three years running in the BBC New Comedy Award. He also won the 2017 Old Comedian of the Year Award. On screen he has featured for BBC 3 in their Quickies sketches, and has been described as having “Brilliantly penned gags… a perceptive portrait of middle age ★★★★” by The List and as “A fantastic Fringe experience ★★★★” by Short Com. Australian comedian Daniel Muggleton’s just woke enough to know that he’s an asshole. But who wants to be a hero these days anyway? There’s never been a worse time to be revered, so Daniel’s doing the sensible and jumping off his privileged pedestal to join the safety of the herd. People say the dumbest stuff to try and sound good: I’m gonna learn a foreign language, don’t judge a book by its cover, I’m with her… stop it, judging people feels great, Hilary Clinton is unlikable and French is useless. Doesn’t that feel better? At the Edinburgh Festival he received these reviews – ‘It’s a massive step forward for Muggleton, and could well serve as his definitive step towards bigger things’. ★★★★ Short Com and ‘If you’re looking for a top quality show that doesn’t involve a tragically sad or emotional final act; an easy comedy experience you’ll enjoy over a refreshing bevvie, then Daniel Muggleton is your man’. ★★★★ Radio Ha Ha – he’s someone we’ve reviewed and loved too, so we definitely recommend seeing him.
