Werewolf: Live – This popular comedy show (which is back at the Edinburgh Festival this week) is being developed for tv by Avalon, and apparently “The game takes place in a village under attack from werewolves. The werewolves are in cahoots and must subtly work together to influence the group into accidentally accusing innocent villagers of being werewolves, thus killing them. High Fidelity – A female led remake of Nick Hornby’s book / film is due to star Zoe Kravitz.
Hippy Dinners: A Memoir of a Rural Childhood – Steve Coogan is adapting this popular novel in to a comedy drama about Welsh hippies. According to Digital Spy, Coogan said: “It has 15, 20 characters of different sizes, various storylines that intersect. It’s something I am passionate about and know will make people laugh and move them. It’s about class, politics and, more importantly than any of that, it’s about people, characters, stories, humanity.”
Hitmen – Sky have ordered a new sitcom starring Mel and Sue, with the couple playing hapless assassins.

IFC – The channel is working on five new shows, though whether or not they’ll make it to air is another question. “Almost Asian,” executive produced by Margaret Cho, chronicles the life of a mixed-race millennial; “Annika Erotica” follows a young pastor harboring a secret passion for writing erotic novels; the adventure comedy “Art Thieves” is about self-proclaimed Robin Hoods of the art world; “Beth,” focuses on a happily-agoraphobic man’s uneasy journey back to the outside world; and the satirical and politically provocative sketch comedy “The Middle Passage.” The projects join the previously announced series in development “How to Rig an Election” and “NGO.”

Last Stop Bay Bridge – Fox are developing a semi-autobiographical multi-camera comedy from Andy Roth (One Day At A Time). SpoilerTv describe it as”About eight people of different ages and ethnicities who form friendships, and rivalries, as they commute by the subway from their gentrifying neighbourhood in Brooklyn to their respective jobs in Manhattan. It’s inspired by Roth’s own upbringing in Manhattan where he rode the subway to school every day and formed the most unlikely and life changing relationships.”
Laughing At Salad – Comedy Central have commissioned a female only sketch show written by Harriet Kemsley, Sarah Morgan, Gemma Arrowsmith, Kat Butterfield, and Cassie Atkinson and performed by Maddie Rice, Beth Rylance, Bronwyn James, Danielle Vitalis and Elinor Lawless. It’ll be released online initially but hopefully will be shown on the channel at some point.
Living With Yourself – This Paul Rudd comedy series was developed by IFC who then decided not to pick it up, but thankfully Netflix will air it in 2019. Aisling Bea has just been added to the cast, which makes us even more excited about it.
Lodge 49 – AMC’s pretty unusual comedy series has been renewed for a second season.
The Long Game – ABC are developing a single-camera family comedy from writer Chadd Gindin, about “A family of scam artists led by Loni – who, 16 years into being a mother, decides it’s time for her to be a good one. She tries to get her family to go straight despite a husband who still slips, a lifetime of bad examples that the kids won’t let her forget and no idea how to accomplish this in a society that seems to have embraced the morally grey area she’s trying to get them away from.”
The Middle – ABC were attempting to create a Sue Heck spin-off starring Eden Sher but it currently looks unlikely to happen, though Warner Bros Tv are shopping it around to other networks:

Woke – Hulu have ordered a pilot for this new show starring Lamorne Morris which Variety describes as “a half-hour comedy with a mix of live-action and animation. Work Wife – Michael Ian Black is to write a new sitcom, which according to Variety is “inspired by the real life friendship of Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest. The multi-camera series…has received a put pilot commitment at the network. You’re Killing Me – Is being developed by CBS All Access and is produced by Gina Rodriguez, who could potentially act in it. According to Spoiler tv it will centre around “Gracie who thought she was cursed with an overbearing mother. But when her mom dies unexpectedly and haunts Gracie for real, Gracie’s worst nightmare becomes her mom’s dream come true.”
